I am a power electronics engineer, researcher, and philosophic observer and visionary, currently working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA Department of Energy, since 2015. Previously I had been with Siemens Corporate Research for 7 years, Capstone Turbine Corporation for 2 years, and TSDI, China Ministry of Railways for 9 years. My research focuses on multilevel converter topology, smart inverter's new control algorithms and functions, and modeling, analysis, and simulations of all power electronics grid. I also serve in the editorial boards for IEEE TPEL, IEEE JESTPE, and IEEE OAJPE.
Some of notable achievements during my career include leading the traction power-supply system R&D for China's first high-speed electric railway line currently commercially operated, and developing Siemens' first IEEE 1547 MW-scale solar PV inverter for North America marketplace.
I have 3 USA patents granted, 60+ referred journal papers, and 90+ referred conference papers. (IEEE Xplore and ScienceDirect). My Google Scholar h-index is 40 with 6,900+ citations (Google Scholar) .
